Stress measurement and management
Stress is the negative effect of sustained
pressure over and above the individuals' ability
to cope with it.
Research from Harvard University shows
that work stress is as harmful to health as smoking or taking no
exercise. The Confederation of British Industry estimates business
lost £10.2 billion in 1998 rough lost productivity
caused by stress.
Can anything be done?
We can all do something to improve our
resilience to stress. At the Chiron Clinic we not only have the
ability to measure stress and assess how well your system is
coping with it, but we can also advise on the nutritional and
lifestyle changes needed to reduce stress and its impact on the
body. We also have at our fingertips electro-magnetic technology
that can reduce stress and improve our resilience to it as well as
nutrition to bolster your stress defence. These combined solutions
have been shown to improve stress resilience, performance and also
general health.
Exactly how is this test carried out?
This can be assessed by a 7- minute HRV reading. This requires
placement of a self-applied sonic probe around the chest (shown below)
and a 7-8 minute reading initially supine and then standing. By this
measurement we are able to objectively establish the individual's
stress hardiness. The results are charted immediately.
How long does this stress test take?
Allow 45 minutes in total. This would
include the actual HRV test and your consultation.
